The Tokushima University Eco-Run Project which belongs to the Innovation Plaza, Tokushima University achieved second place out of 12 teams in the Group III (University, Junior College, Technical College, and Vocational School Students Class) Division of the 2025 Honda Eco Mileage Challenge 38th Suzuka Competition held at the Suzuka Circuit on June 14th, 2025. This competition is a fuel efficiency competition with the theme of "how many kilometers you can drive on 1 liter of gasoline." The Tokushima University Eco-Run Project completed 8 laps in this competition, achieving a fuel efficiency of 252.478km/L.
Now in its third year, this project has made various improvements to the car's body, aiming for a fuel efficiency of 180km/L, based on the fuel efficiency record of 128.966km/L achieved in last year's competition. The biggest improvement was changing the exterior material from aluminum to FRP which successfully reduced the weight by approximately 70% (exterior part).
For next year's competition, the Tokushima University Eco-Run Project will design and manufacture a new vehicle from scratch and also plan to work on carbon-neutral fuel (CN fuel).
