The 28th Science Experience Festival in Tokushima was held at the Faculty of Science and Technology for two days on August 2nd and 3rd, 2025.
This festival allows children to actually take part in science experiments and experience the fun and wonder of science and has become a regular summer holiday event in the region.
This time, the advance registration was required (two sessions; morning and afternoon), and participants were able to experience three science experiments over two hours. 1,800 people, including accompanying persons, attended the event.
We received 2,327 applications for the event, which had a capacity of 912 participants. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone who was unable to attend.
The newly established the "Junior High School Student Booth" dealt with more in-depth themes such as the mechanisms of energy and carbon-containing materials, and allowed students to experience the depths of science through hands-on experiences and experiments. The participating junior high school students enthusiastically participated, deepening their understanding of science.
Also on display this time was the "Ranka" aircraft, which was flown by a student team from Tokushima University and competed in the "JAPAN INTERNATIONAL BIRDMAN RALLY 2025" on July 26th and 27th. The children were fascinated and enjoyed seeing the aircraft up close and being allowed to sit in the cockpit, and there was a line of people waiting to take commemorative photos.
Many of the children who participated said things like, "It was so much fun! I'll definitely come again next year," and we hope to continue making efforts to make this an even more attractive event in the future.
