Liaison Conference between High Schools in Tokushima Prefecture and Tokushima University Held

Tokushima University held a liaison conference with high schools in Tokushima Prefecture on August 25th, 2025.

The conference has been held annually since 1998 with the aim of deepening mutual understanding through an open exchange of opinions on the current state of high schools education in Tokushima Prefecture and the current state of Tokushima University. Attending were 15 people from high schools, 28 people from Tokushima University, and 2 people from the Tokushima Prefectural Board of Education.

This year's theme was "A good connection between high schools and universities education - Support for students who require reasonable accommodations." Mr. Nishiura Toshiyuki, Principal of Tokushima Prefectural Johnouchi Secondary School gave a presentation on the current situation and support efforts at elementary, junior high, and high schools in the prefecture, while Professor Izaki Yumiko, Director of the Health Service, Counseling and Accessibility Center, Tokushima University, gave a presentation on the university's academic support system, the current state of support, and the actual implementation of reasonable accommodations.

The ensuing discussion included lively discussions on the current state of support for students facing difficulties, challenges in providing career guidance in high schools, and support after entering university. This provided a meaningful opportunity to consider reasonable accommodation from the perspective of both high school and university education.
